Painting in the Interior: Visualization vs. Reality

How would this painting look in my home? Would it fit in my bedroom? What if the colors don’t match my couch? Maybe you’re asking yourself these same questions when choosing a painting. I know it’s not easy – especially when you’re looking at my very colorful and bold canvases. One thing that can help you decide is a simple visualization.

Step 1: The Photo
The client sent me this photo of their living room via Instagram messages. For this purpose, it’s really helpful that the shot includes not just the white wall where the painting will hang, but also the surrounding space – the furniture, the sofa, the table, and the TV. It doesn’t need to be high resolution; a simple photo works just fine.

Step 2: The Visualization
The photo above shows the visualization I created by placing an abstract canvas painting (150 x 150 cm) into the space. The painting is called Koi Fish because it reminds me of an orange koi carp in a crystal-clear pond – or at least, it has those colors. :)

Step 3: The Reality
The next photo shows the actual result. From experience, I know that reality is always much softer – and definitely better. Photos taken with mobile phones often have very high contrast.

Not only am I happy to show you my paintings in person, but I’ll also create a visualization of how a specific piece would look in your home. Just reach out – it’s completely free, and only takes a little bit of time.
